Hunter/Jumper Classes for Thoroughbreds Offered
New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is partnering with the hunter/jumper shows at the Kentucky Horse Park to offer special Thoroughbred-only classes this summer. The program’s mission to transition, re-train and re-home retired racehorses continues to grow and expand. This year the program had a positive response when they reached out to the Country Heir Horse Show and the Robert Murphy Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Management from both shows was more than happy to create classes restricted to Thoroughbreds.

Training Challenge to Showcase Rescued Horses
Equine victims of abuse, neglect, and abandonment will be the stars at the second annual Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. The Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society in College Station, Texas, is hosting the challenge to showcase the talents of its many rescues horses.

Illinois Horsemen, Tracks to Assist Retired Horses
The Illinois Thoroughbred Horseman’s Association, Arlington Park, and Hawthorne Race Course have agreed to cooperate in a program to provide for the care of retired Thoroughbred racehorses.

Handicap Horseback Riding Program Searching for Horses
Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (CKRH), a NARHA therapeutic riding program, is looking for horses to add to its equine team. The program has recently expanded into a new facility and a new year-round schedule. CKRH has many requests to provide services, but is currently limited in its ability to expand due to a shortage of appropriate horses.
