Meeting Addresses Issues of Unwanted Horses
One of the concerns, mentioned by several people, is unwanted horses. It is a problem throughout Colorado, and the nation, especially since the economy has soured. Bill Scebbi brought a video message from Chris Whitney, the president of the Colorado Horse Council, and also head of the Colorado Unwanted Horse Alliance.

Alison LaCarrubba, a veterinarian at the University of Missouri, sees many horses on the market for bargain prices, or for no cost at all. An entry-level horse used to sell at auction for $700, she said. Now a buyer can purchase the same horse for $50.
